“When I was about to retire, I had no interest in learning computer skills because I figured I didn't need it. Then Covid happened — everything started going digital and I felt computer-illiterate.”

When I heard about NeverTechLate, I thought I would take advantage and learn as much as I could. I already had two tablets but I never used them because I didn't know how. As you get older, your memory process slows down a little bit, and the only way to retain information is repetition. With the NeverTechLate program as well as the self-explanatory book provided, I was able to not only remember what we were taught, but use those skills in my everyday life.

When the opportunity came to join the NeverTechLate program I thought it would be a great learning curve for me. The class gave me the foundation and the encouragement.
I needed to learn new technology.
Over the years I’ve tried to keep up with technology.
I learned to use computers at the jobs I had but when it came time to use smartphones and tablets, I set them aside and said “I can't do this”.
Some of the other students were also intimidated by the tablet, and it was nice to realize I wasn’t the only one. The classroom setting created a great learning environment and I even made a couple of friends. Now I’m able to stay connected with my family even more. When I’m not able to visit my son I just use Zoom and I can see his baby and talk to the whole family.

I use the skills I learned to do research online. Now if I'm buying a product, I want to look online and see what the reviews are and what other people think about it.
And if I ever need to make a doctor’s appointment online, I’ll know how to approach that.
I would recommend NeverTechLate to anybody that wants to learn more about going online safely and using Zoom. Especially if they want to communicate with their families. It's much nicer to see someone on the screen than just hearing them on the phone. The class taught me about online security, something I didn’t really know about before and that I really appreciated learning.

I’m really happy that I took the NeverTechLate course because I couldn’t understand how to use a tablet and I didn’t have the time to do it on my own.

I'm an 80-year-old retired artist who never had much interest in computers. But I knew I needed to catch up, and this digital literacy course was exactly what I needed. The course was highly organized and focused on teaching the basics of navigating a tablet, making video calls, and performing basic searches. The instructors were so kind and patient. As someone who had never taken a computer class before, it was a great way to learn at my own pace. I would definitely recommend this program to other older adults who want to rekindle old passions, learn new hobbies, and feel more digitally literate.
The course also helped me feel more confident when doctors or medical services ask me to use a portal or upload information digitally. Before the class, I didn't have the vocabulary or the necessary skills, but now I feel much more comfortable accessing critical services online.

I live alone in Vermont. I joined the NeverTechLate program to learn about Zoom and to connect with my family through video calls. I loved that the program was designed to promote active learning, spark curiosity, and build confidence. The lessons were structured well and easy to follow, and I received a binder with lesson plans and a guide to digital literacy. Learning to use a tablet and navigate the internet was a great asset — it enabled me not only to connect with loved ones, but also to rekindle old passions and learn new hobbies. I have online memberships to many museums so I can view exhibits virtually. I’m very happy with the skills I learned and how much more confident I feel around computers and tablets.
Learning these skills helped me feel more comfortable engaging and connecting with my community. I also like that one of the coaches was teaching the class via Zoom — that was the perfect way for us to familiarize ourselves with video calling.

I needed to improve my computer skills so I could qualify for more jobs. As English is my second language, I also wanted to enhance my communication abilities. That's when I discovered the NeverTechLate course, and it turned out to be a life-changing experience.
The course provided me with numerous benefits. Firstly, it helped me acquire the necessary computer skills to increase my employment prospects. As a specialist in medical billing, I needed to improve my computer proficiency in order to excel in my field. This course opened doors for me and gave me a chance to explore new career opportunities. Secondly, the course enhanced my communication skills, particularly through platforms like Zoom. Being far away from my friends,
I rely on technology to stay connected. Now I have regular Zoom calls that help me maintain meaningful relationships. It served as a bridge between my daughter in Russia and me, as we can easily connect via a video call.
The course also equipped me with crucial knowledge about computer security. I learned how to protect private information, deal with spam emails, and create strong passwords. This newfound understanding gave me confidence in securely navigating the digital landscape.
